The cartoon is now up to 5 minutes of awesome! Sweet! The shorter cut is nearly finished! Excellent!

Well, I originally planned on making this short with a small amount of subtlety. I was kind of on the fence about it, not sure if I should go that extra mile for the laugh, or if I should keep a small amount of taste. Some girls started goading me that they were disappointed with how tasteful the one part of the cartoon was, and that they were looking forward to me making it dirty as hell. I still wasn't sure if I should give in. Then I realized, who needs taste? YAY for gratuitous nudity!

Hopefully, this will be completed sometime in January, since I should have loads of time to work on it around then. Right now I'm working on an abbreviated version of it, which I don't plan on posting here. I'd rather wait until the director's cut is finished before releasing it, as it will be funnier, longer and more cohesive.

Did I mention nudity? YAY!

Well, the first three minutes are pretty much done. SWEET! In order to finish this by my deadline, I think I'm gonna have to cut a few scenes, but before I release it here, I'll probably end up finishing it with a "director's cut". This has been an intense project, and it shows (I think), in what will be the final project. Depending on how it comes out, I may just end up posting it then, we'll see. My guess is that I'll go with the director's cut.

Celebration time! Not really... I can't take much of a break... but later, I'll be sure to make up for the lack of celebration now.

Production is well underway. I've got somewhere over a minute of footage completed, with loads of lip synching. If I were pretending to have a schedule, I'd say I'm right on it. I'm feeling good about this one. It's a far departure from my earlier stuff, but I think it's a good direction. I suppose only time will tell, but I can tell you that I'm really excited about this one. I think it's gonna be really good.

Well, there's a script and character design. All done. Voice recording will take place over today and tomorrow most likely. Some minor animation is done, but I'm being held back by a tough decision on prop design and background design. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do them. I've got a kinda experimental idea in mind, but if that turns out looking like crap, it may end up costing me too much time and I may not be able to finish within a reasonable timeframe. It's just something I've got to mull over for the next few days I suppose, although I'll probably end up going with a mix between what I know will work and what I hope will work.

Alright, first draft of the script is done. This is going to be an epic toon, I can tell you that much. Honestly, second draft has been worked on, but isn't quite done yet.

Also, character design done for a couple characters, but several more are yet to come. Anyone who's seen my previous stuff will probably be a bit surprised.

Anyway, time to get back to work.

I've decided that while I would like to finish the project that I have started, due to a computer malfunction that may have in fact destroyed much of the project and the necessity of creating a project that is more ambitious, it looks as though the short I was working on will have to be put on hold. I do still hope to finish it, and I may end up working on it on the side if I get stuck at all on the new project, but until then it looks as though I will be working on an entirely different short.

So many cartoons... so little time...

Anyway, this new project is something I've been kicking around in my mind for quite awhile. I hope to make a series out of it, but I suppose that depends a bit on how it comes out, how it's recieved and if I don't end up burning myself out on the idea while making it. I don't want to divulge too much information, but suffice it to say that it will be far more dialogue heavy than anything I've produced so far, with an actual plot (kind of) and characters with more personality. It's also looking like it's going to be far more offensive than anything I've made in the past... like really offensive... it should be awesome.

Well, I've been (mildly) hard at work on the next project. This one is a collaboration between me and a friend. We concieved the idea together months ago, and he wrote up the script. We recorded the dialogue and this promises to be far more heavy on lip synching than anything I've done before. Up until the recording session, I was unsure about how the project would turn out, however I am now completely sure that my friend and I have a first class ticket to hell... It should be a blast. Hopefully production time will be shorter than my last project, which only took like 3 times longer than I thought it would take to finish.

Anyway, it promises to be pretty awesome when it's finished. Keep an eye out for it in the next few months.

Alright, well I took Bitter Bill into work to get some opinions from the pros, and what I ended up with is some good advice. This means that the short will be delayed yet again while I do some fixes, but quality is the key here. Unless I have a really busy week, I should be able to get this stuff done moderately quickly, so hopefully Bill will be out in the next couple of weeks. I still need music, but not until I'm done animating, which will hopefully be done in a week, maybe a week and a half.
